Have you read Eugene Onegin (by Aleksandr Pushkin)? Have you watched the movie (Onegin)?
This movie (or the story itself, actually) contains too many heartbreaks I think.
I felt depressed after watching it in last week's History of Russia & Muslim Eurasia class.
I borrowed the novel (I hate translations but I don't understand Russian so what choice did I have?) for some task Dr. Kopanski gave, and got depressed again after reading through some parts of it.
I dread reading through the entire work. Brilliant, no doubt, but very sad. It's one of those stories where nobody really wins.
We watch a lot of violent, gory and bloody scenes in Dr. Kopanski's movie-lectures, but this one here, though not particularly gory, I find most disturbing. Come share some heartbreak here.
